Private Event Spaces
Durango event space and mineral pools soakingEvent space was part of the master design plan at Durango Hot Springs. Several of the mineral soaking pools are set up so that they may be isolated as private event space rentals. Whether a corporate retreat, a pre-wedding or other social gathering or just a group of friends who want a space to themselves, we have several different options of different sizes and featuring different amenities. Piedra Pool
If your event also features activities which happen outside of the pools, the Piedra space may be just what you are looking for. Aside from the Piedra pool itself, which comfortably fits 10 or more, this space includes “walking around room” with four sets of tables and chairs, a fire pit and room for an optional roll-in bar setup. Piedra is also located in a corner of our property, making it one of our most private spaces available. Ideal for elegant dinner setups with full-service bar, wedding vows, or corporate team-building activities and presentations.
Piedra + Purgatory Pools
Cold plunging is hot right now, and our Purgatory pool gives your group the ability to experience the thrill of contrast therapy (going from hot to cold) in privacy. Purgatory, with its beautiful yin/yang shape offers one hot side with temperatures ranging between 105-110 degrees and a cold side with temperatures ranging from 48-52 degrees. This gives your guests a one-of-a-kind water feature to experience contrast therapy. Contrast therapy reduces inflammation, boosts circulation, increases endorphins, and builds mental resilience (it’s also a fun group activity!).
The Purgatory pool is offered only as an add-on to parties who are renting our Piedra pool. The Piedra area was specifically designed with group events in mind. It features not only a large hot springs mineral water pool, but also an expansive deck area with seating and a fire pit. Pairing the spaciousness of Piedra with the thrill of Purgatory adds a unique dimension to any event.
Turf Area
Sometimes you just need a place to park everybody and everything. The Turf Area just inside our property from the Welcome Center has ample space for tables, chairs and birthday cakes and is located right next to our resort-style family swimming pool. The Turf Area is also an excellent spot to stage catering for larger events – it can comfortably fit tables, serving lines and fun items like chocoolate fountains and cotton candy machines.
Haviland Pool
For small to medium parties, Haviland provides the perfect mixture of in-the-pool space and out-of-the-pool space. Comfortably accommodating six people, the Haviland pool features great views of the valley and surrounding mountains. The event space also features a small deck area with a few chairs and tables. Haviland is popular with gatherings such as wedding parties and executive groups who would like to stick to one location, while keeping the whole group together.
Electra Pool
Back on the hillside near the top of our property, the Electra pool is designed for smaller groups who want to be away from it all. The space has two chairs outside the pool but has been created with an emphasis on soaking in the cozy mineral pool. Designed for the soaking enjoyment of six individuals, Electra is the perfect size for families, bachelor or bachelorette parties, intimate birthday celebrations or small executive gatherings.
Florida Pool
Located at the highest point on our property, this mountainside mineral pool sits beneath century-old Ponderosa pine trees and affords dramatic views of the entire property as well as the striking mountain vistas beyond. Florida is also one of our larger pools (designed to accommodate 15 comfortably), making it ideal for bigger groups who want to soak, sit poolside and enjoy the views. Florida is also positioned at the top of a staircase, making it easy to isolate for privacy.
Electra + Florida Pools
Two is better than one! Our Electra and Florida hot springs mineral pools provide some of the most beautiful views of our property. Overlooking the facility and located at the base of century-old ponderosa pines, the Electra and Florida pools host a perfect private space for immersing your guests in the natural environment at the Durango Hot Springs Resort. Renting both gives your party the freedom to easily switch pools while cordoning off the staircase which leads to both.
